make the world go away

Today I’ve had the lyrics to the song Make the World Go Away in my head. Yes, it was really kind of random and I wasn’t sure why they would come to my head. And then I remembered last night in the temple I was feeling very light. (In all interpretations of the word.) I was thinking to myself, “It’s like the world has gone away.” It was a very good feeling. Then this morning I was back, getting ready for the day, and the world was back, too. And that’s when I started singing in my head… Oh make the world go away and get it off my shoulder…

That’s all, really no worries. I know where to go to make the world go away.

cheesy artichoke dip

Have you ever ordered a yummy cheesy artichoke dip at the Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill,  Porcupine Grill & Pub, or other yummy place? Have you ever been at home and craved the yummy cheesy artichoke dip that you ordered at the Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, Porcupine Grill & Pub, or other yummy place? Then try this.

Cheesy Spinach Artichoke Dip

What you need:

  • 1 can (14 oz.) artichoke hearts, drained, finely chopped (Marinated or not)
  • 1 pkg.  (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well drained (If doubling the recipe…the 16 oz bag is plenty.)
  • 3/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 3/4 cup Light Mayo Reduced Fat Mayonnaise (I cut back on this, too.)
  • 1/2 cup Milk Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp.  garlic powder

Make it

  • HEAT oven to 350°F.
  • MIX ingredients; spoon into 9-inch quiche dish or pie plate.
  • BAKE 20 min. or until heated through.
  • SERVE with crackers and cut-up fresh vegetables.

Just a warning: if you make it and share it with friends or family, it will become your food assignment for any function or party in the near future. It is usually what I am asked to bring. Most recently was my sister’s baby shower.

little joys make life wonderful

100_4857

If I could be anywhere on a Friday night…I would choose to play cars with this little guy. Little boys are the most fun. Trucks, cars, planes. Yes, we drive them all around the house, sound effects and all.

And he is so irresistible in his hat.

(Actually that’s the hat I used for a Jesse (Toy Story 2) costume. But I told him it was Woody’s hat.100_4840

One day Elijah will play with us, too. But for now we’ll just hold him.

happy 10.10.10

That’s all.

Ten things I liked about today:

  1. It’s Sunday.
  2. It’s fall.
  3. It’s beautiful and sunny outside.
  4. The fall colors are beautiful.
  5. I spent time in the mountains.
  6. I sang.
  7. I created.
  8. Dinner was good. Far from healthy, but good.
  9. I’m alive.
  10. The starry night was beautiful.

Pretend it’s 10.10.10 10:10. It was twice today.

Good night.

splits are part of the curriculum

True story in my flexibility class. A fantastic class. We stretch and stretch. And then one day we were instructed to go into the splits. "What?" "You heard me...splits are part of the curriculum." Oh man! In my younger years I did gymnastics. I tumbled all over the floor. I flipped around the bars. I ran across the balance beam. I could bend myself forward and backwards. Splits were never my thing. And guess what...they still aren't. Fortunately, they aren't a requirement to pass. Another good thing...Power naps are also part of the curriculum. Everyday. Brilliant!
